Senior Oral Health: A Public Health Challenge in an Ageing Society

With increasing life expectancy and an aging population, senior citizens’ oral health has become an urgent priority on the public health agenda. In this parallel session, we will explore the implications of oral health for the overall well-being of the elderly, highlighting its connection to chronic diseases, quality of life, and functional autonomy. Key challenges such as unequal access to dental care, oral health literacy, and gaps in public programs targeting this age group will be discussed. Additionally, we will explore potential innovative solutions and collaborative approaches, including public-private partnerships, community initiatives, and digital health technologies, aimed at ensuring more inclusive preventive and rehabilitative care.
