Maria João Quadrado

Professor Dr. Maria João Quadrado holds a Ph.D. in Vision Sciences from the University of Coimbra. She is an ophthalmologist at UOC—Ophthalmology Unit of Coimbra and at the Coimbra Hospital and University Center, where she is head of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Section, head of the Ophthalmology Operating Room, and head of the Eye Bank. She specializes in corneal pathology, ocular surface, and corneal transplantation. She is a guest assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and a researcher at the Clinical and Biomedical Research Institute of Coimbra (iCBR), where she develops and participates in research projects and clinical trials. She was President of the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology (SPO) in the biennium of 2015-2016 and is currently the President of the General Assembly of the same institution.
