Bruno Almeida

Bruno Almeida is an expert in diabetology with vast experience in the follow-up of young adults and adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. He is the deputy clinical director of apdp diabetes clinic, the biggest diabetes clinic in Portugal and one of the biggest in Europe, that follows 4100 type 1 and 16000 type 2 diabetic patients. He makes continuous subcutaneous insulin infusions consultations, diabetes for young adults, and adult care consultations. Bruno Almeida is enthusiastic about technology and how it can change the lives of patients with diabetes, improving their quality of life and outcomes. A specialist in internal medicine with a master’s degree in clinical nutrition, a postgraduate in medical law, and a Health Management graduate, finishing a PhD in public health. Invited professor of deontology and medicine law in the UBI Medicine Faculty and was invited Professor of physiology in the Coimbra Medicine Faculty. He was one of the invited professors who opened the Cabo Verde Medicine faculty. He was a lecturer in the Medicine Faculty in Angola, Mozambique, and Namibia. He presented hundreds of lectures in the areas of diabetes and obesity. Bruno Almeida has published several papers and is one of the scientific reviewers for diabetes journals. He was an investigator in several trials in the pharmaceutical industry and was the medical lead of the diabetes division of Lilly Portugal.
