Armindo Monteiro

President of Confederation of Industry of Portugal

Armindo Lourenço Monteiro is president of CIP, the Business Confederation of Portugal. Previously, he was chairman of the board of directors of Future Compta, the oldest Portuguese technology company. With a degree in Business Management from the University of Évora, with a postgraduate degree in Statistics and Information Systems from ISEGI, New University of Lisbon, Armindo Monteiro also heads the board of the engineering and construction group LEVON SA, and 14 other companies. Parallel to the intense business life, Armindo Monteiro has always had a very active participation in the national associative movement. In fact, he presided over the fates of ANJE – National Association of Young Entrepreneurs and ANETIE – National Association of Information Technology and Electronics Companies. He was vice-president of CCP – Confederation of Commerce and Services of Portugal, vice-president of AIP – Portuguese Industrial Association, vice-president of Yes for Europe – European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs, and member of CES – Economic and Social Council and FIJE – Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs. He was president of the General Council of the University of Évora. Married, father of two girls and now 52 years old, Armindo Monteiro still keeps time for two other great passions: music and diving with equipment.
